From Monday, August 19th to Saturday, August 31st, 2024, the Nawair-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria Youth Wing, Lagos Zone successfully hosted its Annual International Youth Week Program, bringing together members from various branches in a rich blend of spiritual upliftment, humanitarian service, fitness, and social connection.
This year's program was thoughtfully designed to promote unity, encourage personal growth, and foster a deeper commitment to service and wellness among young members of the Society.
Day 1 – Monday, 19th August 2024
Opening Ceremony
The week kicked off with an official opening address by the Zone Chairman, streamed live across all social media platforms. The message emphasized the importance of youth development and collective progress within the Islamic community.
Day 2 – Wednesday, 21st August 2024
Special Prayer and Lecture
A spiritually enriching prayer session and lecture were conducted and broadcast live. The session encouraged reflection, self-discipline, and the importance of youth as leaders of today and tomorrow.
Day 3 – Friday, 23rd August 2024
Special Jumu’ah Service & Humanitarian Visitation
Following a special Jumu’ah prayer, members carried out a humanitarian visit to Lagos Cheshire Home, Mushin. Over 20 members participated, engaging with residents and donating essential items — a powerful demonstration of compassion and community service.
Day 4 – Saturday, 24th August 2024
Fitness Walk
Health met fellowship in a fitness walk from Mushin Bus Stop to Nawair-ud-Deen Mosque, Oshodi. The event drew over 50 enthusiastic participants, encouraging physical wellness and bonding across branches.
Day 5 – Sunday, 25th August 2024
Formal Closing Ceremony
The closing ceremony was held at the Nawair-ud-Deen Central Masjid, Oshodi, featuring a spiritually charged lecture by Sheikh Ibrahim Yushau Ebunoluwapo Al Hareery. Over 120 members attended this powerful session, which emphasized the need for consistent spiritual growth and youth involvement in religious and community matters.
Day 6 – Saturday, 31st August 2024
Picnic at Attican Beach Resort
To round off the week, members gathered at Attican Beach Resort, Lagos, for a well-deserved day of recreation and relaxation. Over 30 members enjoyed the tranquil setting, shared meals, and strengthened bonds of friendship and unity.
This year’s Youth Week wasn’t just a calendar of events — it was a celebration of youth empowerment, service, and Islamic values. The diverse range of activities reflected the Society’s holistic approach to youth development — spiritually, physically, socially, and morally.
The Nawair-ud-Deen Youth Wing, Lagos Zone, extends heartfelt appreciation to all participants, volunteers, guest lecturers, and partner branches who made the 2024 Youth Week an overwhelming success.
