as captured on the NYCN Lagos Chairman's Official Page

On this year’s commemoration of World Youth Skills Day, I was a guest on Miliki 101.3FM where I spoke about the importance of skill acquisition for our youths.

I used the medium to announce the one-day skill acquisition program that will be held simultaneously by the 57 local branches and 54 affiliated organizations today wherein participants will be taught the basics of various crafts pro bono.

Responding to questions on the youths' contribution to development, I emphasized that youths in Lagos state are a model to others across the country and beyond owing to our political consciousness and immense contribution to the development of our dear state. I pointed out that skills acquisition and other forms of human capital development are what we need to remain at our best as I called for continuous support from state government and other relevant stakeholders.

On whether the youths are ready for leadership positions in politics, I made it known that the youths have shown greater level of preparedness referencing the developmental activities of the young individuals that are currently occupying key positions such as the Minister for Youth Development, Jamila Bio Ibrahim, the Minister of State for Youth, Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, the Minister of Communication, innovation and Digital Economy; Hon. Bosun Tijani, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development; Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the SSA to Lagos State Governor on Youth Mobilization; Hon. Alabi Opeyemi his counterparts on Civic Engagement and Technical and Vocational Education; Hon. Ruth Lijirin and Hon. Giwa Moore, respectively, among others.
